Itinerary

Itinerary:

Pre-arrival day – Friday | We’ll depart Perth at 12pm with our eyes set on Amazing Albany. After checking in to our accommodation at Best Western Albany Motel & Apartments, you’ll have some free time to explore before we head into town for dinner at a local Bistro.

Day 1 – Saturday

Fuel up with a cooked breakfast at a nearby cafe before we head to Torndirrup National Park to hike the ruggedly spectacular 12.5km Bald Head Trail. The trail is made up of a combination of boardwalks, limestone paths, sandy walk ways and hard granite sections. You will require a relatively good level of fitness to undertake this trail, despite only being 12.5kms long it will take us about 5hrs to complete. After our hike, we’ll go visit the natural beauty of The Gap and Natural Bridge and watch the fierce waves crash against the rocks below. Our last stop for today will be the Albany Wind Farm before we head back to our accommodation to freshen up for dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2 – Sunday

After checking out of our accommodation, we’ll enjoy another delicious breakfast at Kate’s Place then head to the Porongurup National Park to tackle the stunning Nancy’s Peak & Devil’s Slide Trail. Commonly referred to as “The Porongurups”, this unique mountain range is approximately 12km long and was formed over 1200 million years ago, making it one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world!

The energy of this ancient mountain range can be felt with your first steps into the dense karri forest that surrounds the base of the peaks. As you summit the giant granite peaks you will be left in awe at the stunning views of farmland across to Albany and the Stirling Range. After experiencing the peaks of the Porongurups, we’ll return to ground level and experience some local wines and a light lunch before we hit the road for our drive back to the big smoke!
