Anji

Anji’s passion for hiking began at age 14 while completing the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and continued through her TAFE studies in outdoor pursuits and sports, completing a diploma in Phys Ed. After a long break for nursing and family, she moved to Perth and re-ignited her love for the outdoors by joining the OTBT family. She quickly became a volunteer and is now starting her first season as lead guide, finding joy in helping others overcome their challenges in nature.

Anji’s motto is ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’.

Anji completed the Cape to Cape in 2023 as a guest of OTBT which Anji says had her digging deep for energy reserves a few times, however it is up there as one of her favourite hikes. Earlier this year she completed the 3 Capes in Tasmania. Now she is torn as to which is her favourite! And, like all hiking nuts, Anji has a very long list of hikes she’d like to complete.

Anji says she has the perfect work/life balance, she loves her Clinical Nurse position in Paediatrics, and on her days off you will find her out on a trail somewhere – either enjoying the hike alone, or with OTBT. Anji says that the emotional demands that come with her profession just float away when she is immersed in nature, it settles her soul, and puts the balance back in her life. She can’t wait to meet you out there!
