Dawn has always been active and open to trying new things, and as she humorously says, “I’ll give anything a go, with or without training!” She has walked the Cape to Cape twice with her brother Ashley, (who is also an OTBT guide), and has previous experience as a hiking guide leading guests on tours along the Cape to Cape, Karijini to Exmouth, and the Best of South West.
She has also walked half of the Bibbulmun Track, most of the Kep Track, completed a 24-hour Oxfam walk, and participated in the Cape to Cape Mountain Bike race—though she admits, “I started training at the start of the race, needless to say, I came last, but I did everything they allowed me to do!”
A passionate traveller, Dawn is looking forward to her upcoming trip to Finland and Norway, but says Hamelin Bay is her “most favourite place in the world.” She works for herself offering Art Therapy sessions, is a trained yoga teacher, and a Reiki Master. “I love a bit of a dress-up here and there and making a difference in people’s lives,” she shares.
When not working or travelling, Dawn enjoys getting on her bicycle most mornings, and finding joy in picking up lost cans and helping to clean the environment. “Someone once said to me, you’re hunting and gathering,” she laughs.
Her biggest passion is her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She is excited to be part of the OTBT team and looks forward to driving our guests around, saying, “I absolutely love driving and can’t wait to hop on the bus with OTBT!”
