“Did somebody say ‘Outdoors’? I’m there!” This enthusiasm is exactly what drives Elaine in her role at OTBT, where she loves supporting guests to experience the joy of nature and helping them realise just how achievable it can be. She says, “I love the culture at OTBT—it’s inclusive, and we make hiking and outdoor activities accessible for everyone. The sense of community and the genuine desire to help people achieve their goals while having fun is what makes it special.”
Elaine is passionate about being immersed in nature and finds simplicity in the outdoors. “I love to listen, observe, and just take it all in. It awakens all of my senses, and if there’s a tree, I’ll hug it and absorb its strength and energy.” She’s had many memorable experiences, including hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc, Tasmania’s Three Capes, and tackling WA’s iconic Bibbulmun Track end to end. Elaine has also loved cycling from Albany to Perth, and kayaking along Ningaloo Reef. “I don’t have a favourite experience, as I’ve loved them all,” she says.
Her path with OTBT began with a multi-day hike from Kalamunda to Mt Dale in 2020. She was hooked, and after many more adventures, she joined the team as a support guide in 2024. With a love for travel, Elaine is now eager to explore the trails in the UK and New Zealand, as well as cycle the Munda Biddi. In her free time, Elaine enjoys woodworking, attending music festivals, and spending time with loved ones.
