Tour Description
Taking the next step into overnight hiking can be very rewarding and a lot of fun. It’s important to be prepared and feel confident so you have an awesome experience! This is your chance to give overnight hiking a go with our Off The Beaten Track WA Guides who will assist you, educate you and answer any questions you may have.
Off The Beaten Track WA will lead you on a hike along the Bibbulmun Track through mixed jarrah forest and a stunning garden of colourful wildflowers. All whilst you carry all your own camping gear and completely immerse yourself in nature!
The hike begins with a steep incline to get the blood pumping! The effort is worth the reward as you walk along the ridge surrounded by Jarrah and Marri trees. The rest of today’s hike is at an easier pace as we wind our way through undulating valleys and make our way down to the Murray River. From here we have a short hike until we reach camp for the night at Murray Campsite located on the banks of the river.
As the sun goes down we will light the campfire and enjoy the mesmerising flames, warmth and ambience as the cool night air sets in.
If we’re lucky, we’ll awake to a cool crisp morning to witness the fog hovering over the Murray River. Today we’ll make an early start as we have almost 16kms to cover but you are in for an absolute treat! The wildflowers will be in bloom and they will not disappoint. Almost immediately from departing camp you will be engulfed in a sea of red and yellow in what some describe as ‘heavens garden’. We will break for lunch overlooking the water then continue through to Driver Road where our Murray Hut Overnight Hike comes to an end.
We have incorporated all meals into this itinerary to make things easy for you! We also have most equipment available to hire for those that want to try before they buy! A packing list will be emailed to you upon registration.
Off The Beaten Track WA provide a trained and experienced Lead Guide and Tail Ender for our hikes. We carry two-way communication devices, a personal location beacon when phone signal is not available and we’re a fully licensed, insured and accredited Western Australian tourism business provide hiking and adventure experiences with a twist!
