Abyssinia Rock is a hidden gem on the Bibbulmun Track and a real a treat to explore!

This 11 km hike begins by taking you slightly uphill through dense jarrah and she-oak bushland, filled with grass trees, banksias and a variety of wildflowers. After a couple of kms the trail narrows and starts to wind across a ridge, a break in the trees to the south gives you a glimpse of the amazing views to come! Following the Wagyl, you begin to make your way downhill to the giant granite dome – Abyssinia Rock!

We carry two-way communication devices, a personal location beacon when phone signal is not available and we’re a fully licensed, insured and accredited Western Australian tourism business providing hiking and adventure experiences with a twist!

Tour Terrain & Experience Level
The total hiking distance is 11 km across predominantly flat terrain, graded as Level 3. The route includes one short ascent and descent, with the remainder of the track being even and well-formed.

Guests are advised to wear sturdy footwear with good grip. This hike is suitable for individuals with a reasonable level of fitness, and no prior hiking experience is required.

Child Pricing & Suitability
Child pricing is available for participants aged 10–16 years, with a parent or guardian required to attend. This age range has been identified as most suitable for the distance and overall experience. That said, you know your child best. If you feel they have the fitness, resilience, and ability to participate comfortably within a group environment, we welcome younger participants at your discretion.

Meeting Point: 12 km past Ashendon Rd, along Brookton Hwy, Ashendon. Enter ‘Brookton Hwy Bibbulmun Track’ into Google Maps. You’ll find us where the powerlines and Bibbulmun Track cross the road. Park on the gravel to the right. Please aim to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure a prompt departure.
