Sharing the stories we hear on the trails — one step at a time.
Welcome to Trail Tales WA — a podcast dedicated to breaking down barriers and making the outdoors a more inclusive, accessible space for everyone.
Based in Western Australia, we share stories from the trails—highlighting the experiences, challenges, and triumphs of people of all abilities and backgrounds. Through conversations with adventurers, advocates, and industry leaders, we break down barriers and celebrate the diverse ways people connect with nature.
Trail Tales will inspire, educate, and empower you to hit the trails with confidence. This is your go-to audio companion for all things accessible hiking and inclusive adventure.
Each episode, we chat with trailblazers, adaptive adventurers, accessibility advocates, and everyday legends who’ve found connection, freedom, and healing in nature.
Topics include:
Real-life stories of overcoming obstacles to explore WA’s hiking trails
The impact of inclusive tourism and programs like Hike-Ability
Insights from accessibility experts and outdoor leaders
Tips for exploring Western Australia’s natural places with confidence
The future of accessible tourism and design in WA
Accessibility isn’t a bonus — it’s a basic right. At Trail Tales WA, we believe everyone deserves to experience the magic of nature, regardless of ability, background, or circumstance.
Our podcast aims to:
Celebrate inclusive hiking in Western Australia
Amplify the voices of people with lived experience
Encourage innovation in accessible tourism
Educate and inspire the wider adventure and tourism community
At Off The Beaten Track WA, we believe that every body belongs on the trail. Our passion for Accessible Tourism runs deep — and it’s why we’ve created a range of Accessible Adventures designed to break down barriers and open up the outdoors to people of all abilities.
Through our award-winning Hike-Ability program and other inclusive hiking experiences, we provide safe, supportive, and empowering opportunities for individuals living with physical, intellectual, sensory, or hidden disabilities to connect with nature, themselves, and others.
From gentle guided bushwalks to inclusive group treks supported by trained guides and tailored experiences, we’re proud to lead the way in accessible and inclusive hiking in Western Australia.
We’re passionate about inspiring change across the WA tourism industry by helping businesses think beyond the standard and embrace inclusivity. Through accessibility assessments, consulting, and keynote speaking, we support operators in creating experiences that are welcoming to all.
