Anne-Marie discovered hiking with OTBT in 2021 as a way to connect with nature and enjoy the many fitness benefits it offers. A natural athlete, she has always excelled in sports, playing for WA in both netball and basketball, as well as being a top swimmer—her favourite stroke being freestyle.
Her hiking achievements include completing the multi-day hikes Cape to Cape in WA and Three Capes in TAS. She’s also conquered many of WA’s iconic day hikes, including Bald Head, Mt. Hassell, and her most challenging hike so far, Mt. Toolbrunup in the Stirling Ranges. Bluff Knoll is high on her ‘to-hike’ list because, as she says, “I love hiking uphill!”
When not on the trails Anne-Marie volunteers in the Special Ed Centre at a local high school and works in admin. She’s proud to be an integral part of the OTBT team, and after taking part in her own Hike-Ability hikes and experiencing the physical and mental benefits of hiking as someone living with a disability, she’s passionate about helping others get out on the trails to connect with nature, and improve their well-being.
Anne-Marie has a wicked sense of humor, loves dogs, has a cat, is a huge Eagles footy fan, and one day hopes to travel to Italy.
Anne-Marie is a true legend—five years younger than the boss (and she always will be!). And watch out if you’re even older, or short! She has an iron bladder, and when she’s not tripping over, she’s hiking uphill without a complaint. She’s an absolute machine!
