Day 1 | Transfer Dwellingup to Albany Highway | Hike to White Horse Hills Campsite | Distance: 13.8km

Your journey begins in Dwellingup, where you’ll meet your guides, complete a gear check and receive a full briefing before transferring to the Albany Highway trailhead. From the moment you step onto the Bibbulmun Track, you’ll find yourself immersed in the Northern Jarrah Forest. The trail begins gently alongside a Bluegum plantation before it begins winding through open woodland up towards Boonering Hill (523m ASL).

This section offers a gradual introduction to the terrain ahead, with rolling undulations, pockets of wildflowers in season, and glimpses of the diversity that defines this part of the track. As you move further from the highway, the sense of remoteness begins to build.

Arriving at White Horse Hills Campsite, you’ll settle into your first night on track, learning the foundations of camp life and embracing the simplicity of the bush.

Day 2 | White Horse Hills to Mount Wells Campsite | Distance: 14.3km

Today the trail begins to reveal more of its character, with steady climbs guiding you into the granite-rich landscapes of the Darling Range. As you ascend, the forest opens and closes around you, with sections of mature jarrah and marri giving way to more exposed ridgelines. Granite outcrops and boulders begin to appear, offering moments to pause, boulder-hop, and take in sweeping views across the surrounding forest.

This section includes some of the more memorable climbs of the journey, rewarding your effort with a sense of elevation and perspective across the landscape. The diversity of terrain keeps the day engaging, with changing vegetation, textures underfoot and the quiet presence of wildlife. Reaching Mount Wells is a true highlight. Set within a restored fire lookout tower, this unique campsite offers an elevated vantage point above the forest, creating a memorable and iconic overnight experience. Will you climb the lookout tower?

Day 3 | Mount Wells to Chadoora Campsite | Distance: 15km

Day 3 carries you deeper into the forest, where the track becomes quieter and more remote. The terrain continues to roll, but today it is more of a downhill trend! You’ll notice subtle shifts in the landscape, as you descend Mount Wells. Forest trails is the theme for today’s hike, which offers a strong sense of immersion, where the outside world feels distant and the rhythm of walking takes over.

By now, your confidence on trail has grown. Your pack feels more familiar, your pace more natural, and the experience begins to settle into something both grounding and rewarding.

Arriving at Chadoora Campsite, you’ll spend your final night surrounded by the stillness of the bush.

Day 4 | Chadoora to Dwellingup | Distance: 20.6km

Your final day is the longest (but flattest) and most rewarding, bringing together everything you’ve built over the past three days. The trail continues towards Dwellingup and for the majority of today you’ll follow the old Pinjarra-Narrogin Railway Line through lush forest dotted with seasonal blooms and fungi. You’ll pass Etmilyn Train Station and see the remnants of an old tanker. Etmilyn will be your last lunch break location on your hike, a chance to pause and take it all in!

There’s a noticeable shift as you move closer to town, with the landscape subtly opening, granite starting to reappear, and the sense of completion building with every step. This section invites reflection – on the distance you’ve covered, the challenges you’ve moved through, and the strength you’ve built along the way!

As you arrive back in Dwellingup, there’s a powerful sense of achievement. Not just in the kilometres completed, but in the journey you’ve taken to get here.

This experience is suited to hikers with a reasonable level of fitness who are ready to step into multi-day hiking and build endurance across consecutive days. The trail includes a mix of single track and wider forestry trails, with rolling terrain and some steady climbs. You will be carrying a full pack, adding to the challenge. Overnight hiking experience is recommended but not essential. Our guides will support you with pacing, technique and trail skills, while maintaining a steady pace that allows you to enjoy the journey. For the best experience, we recommend preparing with training hikes, such as our Endurance Hikes.
