Experience the impressive and historic Swan View Tunnel, the delightfully scenic National Park Falls and views of the Swan Coastal Plain from the Eagle View Lookout on the Tunnels, Falls & Eagle Views Hiking Experience.

Join Off The Beaten Track WA as we guide you on a 10 km hike in John Forrest National Park, through tunnels, past waterfalls and cascades, and then following the ridge until we reach awe-inspiring views of the Perth city skyline!

The Swan View Tunnel, located in John Forrest National Park was built in 1895 and is the earliest tunnel in WA’s history. The construction of the railway line was a major engineering project managed by C Y O’Connor. An incredible amount of rocks and rubble were moved to construct the embankments, along with intensive blasting, digging, dynamite and horsepower.

Off The Beaten Track WA provide a trained and experienced Lead Guide and Support Guide for our hikes. We carry two-way communication devices, a personal location beacon when phone signal is not available and we’re a fully licensed, insured and accredited Western Australian tourism business provide hiking and adventure experiences with a twist!

Tour Terrain & Experience Level
The total hiking distance is 10 km across on undulating and rocky terrain graded as Level 3. The route includes one rocky ascent & descent but the rest of the terrain is quite flat and even. Guests are advised to wear sturdy footwear with good grip. This hike is suitable for individuals with a reasonable level of fitness and no prior hiking experience is required.

Child Pricing & Suitability
Child pricing is available for participants aged 10–16 years, with a parent or guardian required to attend. This age range has been identified as most suitable for the distance and overall experience. That said, you know your child best. If you feel they have the fitness, resilience, and ability to participate comfortably within a group environment, we welcome younger participants at your discretion.

Meeting Place: Meet at the lower car park on the corner of Swan Rd & Morrison Rd, Swan View (near the Swan View Station Platform). Please aim to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure a prompt departure.
